Moss is one of nature’s indelible beings. It’s a primitive species that hasn’t changed much in the 400 million years since dinosaurs roamed the earth. Its simplicity makes it incredibly resilient, which is why you’ll find moss growing almost anywhere, even today. It grows on soil, trees, rocks, and even in urban settings on concrete and asphalt. Moss has unique ecological properties that allow it to grow alongside grasses and in many places inhospitable to them.
